Summary:
The General Ledger Accountant supports the corporate controller by reconciling selected balance sheet accounts, preparing and correcting journal entries and performing monthly closing processes for financial statement preparation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Account reconciliations Journal entry preparation and entry into system Review of account reconciliations performed by others Monthly review of trial balance Financial statement preparation Performs general financial accounting and other related duties in the accounting department Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements Maintains the general ledger Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books Reconciles bank accounts least monthly, verifes deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit Assist with filing sales tax returns in various states Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record Must be able to pass Department of Transportation alcohol and drug screen
Experience:
2 years of general ledger accounting Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, 10 key, and Google Workspace Salary:
This is a salaried position, pay range 48,000 - 62,000, along with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.
This position can be a hybrid position with a minumium of working two days in the Cabool, Missouri headquarters office.
